In Response To: Omega Movements for $98?? ()

You can buy the ETA 2892-A2 movement for about $100. One thing no one ever mentions is how much would it cost for a base Rolex movement? No one really knows because you can't buy them from Rolex. A lot of manufacturers use the ETA 2892 base movement. For example IWC uses it in a few of their watches and they rebuild/finish the movement better than any Rolex movement I have ever seen. Omega cal 1120 uses the ETA 2892-A2 base movement, but Omega makes a lot of modifications to it. I'm sure someone here can tell you exactly what Omega does to the movement.

I think that the majority of people who own Rolex watches only own 1 watch and think in their little minds since they can afford to blow $3500- for a SS watch that it has to be the best. Most people who always knock other brands are really insecure about what they purchased.

I own both Rolex and Omega's and in my opinion the SMP and SMPC are great watches for the money.
