Actually, it's been keeping time accurately (it's a quartz, BTW...) and there's just some spotting on the dial - might be something which can simply be cleaned off, and if someone would recommend trying that I'll give it a whirl.

The watch was tested for water-resistance, and tests out for both vacuum and pressure. That's why I'm pretty sure it was a shower incident.

There's no indication that a major overhaul is needed - just a cosmetic issue.
