Omega is a better watch for the money and has a much better history. Most of Tag's history comes from the Heuer name they acquired in recent history. Fans of classic Heuer watches tell me that the current Tag watches are not near the caliber of the older Heuer watches.

Omega has continued to make superior watches throughout their history. Simply take a look at the numerous used and vintage watch dealers on the Internet. You will see many older Omega watches still looking good and selling for a respectable price. For more detail on Omega's history, see the official Omega site at www.omega.ch.

Tag is one of the brands most known by the general public--along with Rolex, Timex and Seiko. Tag makes a good product, but is a fair bit overpriced compared to what you can get in a 'better brand' for the same or slightly more money.

But ultimately, you have to go for what YOU like the most.
