Adjusting Movado watch band

Please excuse this non-Omega related message...

I recently purchased a Movado Esperanza for my wife. Got it at Costco and, thus, no band adjust ment is included. No problem, I thought, as I was easily able to adjust the band on my Seamaster Pro (thanks, especially, to the infor contained on THIS web site!)... how could the Movado be any more difficult? Well, after successfully removing one of the pins from the Movado band, the links absolutely refuse to separate?!? For the life of me, I can't figure out what is still holding them together?

Don't get me wrong... I don't mind spending the money to have it "professionally" adjusted. However, this thing has sort of become a challenge. Like trying to put together (err, take apart) a puzzle.

Anyone have any experience and can offer any tips? Thanks in advance!
