Buying an Omega off a 'shopping channel...' !?!?!
In Response To: Grey Market America's Cup?! ()

That's only about 27% off retail, which you should be able to negotiate that or better from an authorized dealer.

I looked up this watch on the Value Vision website (www.shopnbc.com). There was no information indicating whether they were offering this through an authorized dealer or not. They do claim to offer a three year warranty on it--but no information on who this warranty coverage is through.

I think I would want to look around and ask a lot more questions about this 'dealer' to understand what risks I was taking going through a 'shopping channel' rather than a traditional luxury watch seller.

Certainly the discount you are getting off retail--while not bad--fails to be impressive enough to accept too much risk in return. Might be different if they were offering it for 40-50% off retail!
