Dynamic versus SMP...
In Response To: Dynamic Features ()

: What features make the Dynamic different from
: the SMP?

No technical feature differences other than the depth ratings (SMP=300m, Dynamic=50M) and the SMP's interesting but virtually useless Helium Relief Valve. They have almost the exact same movement--the Dynamic's 1108 and the SMP's 1120 are over 95% the same piece. The 1120 adds a couple of minor improvements and is sent off for COSC testing to receive a chronometer certification. But my Dynamic and SMP are about equally accurate.

Other than that are the obvious differences of looks and the SMP having an immensely superior bracelet. The Dynamic is a retro style based on a 1950's Omega model made for the Royal Air Force. Its bracelet is like on the Speedmaster Reduced--and is a real hair puller for some people. After four days of it, I swapped out to a military strap which nicely compliments the military/pilot look.

The SMP bracelet (the Bond style, not the newer Speedmaster style) is one of the finest and most comfortable heavy bracelets I've ever encountered in an under $5000 watch.

Ultimate consensus--I liked both enough that I ended up getting both!
