My vintage Seamaster, which just went in for an overhaul has a stained dial, which is noticeable. The watchmaker gave me the option of leaving it as is, or sending it away for a re-dial.
My quandry is this, and ultimately the decision will be mine but I seek your opinions. Do you believe in restoration, or preservation? Should I restore this watch to it's original splendor, or leave it the way it is and preserve its years of 'character'?
Re-sell is not an issue. I plan on keeping this watch. What would "you" do? For the purpose of this discussion, my desires are irrelevant.
