Re: Seamaster/Speedmaster questions

: 1. Why is 2598.20.00 so much thicker and
: heavier than 2531.80.00?

So it can double as a boat anchor! No, really it has a lot to do with the waterproofing. The Chronograph version needs a lot more space and gaskets for the elaborate waterproofing seals needed to allow using the chronograph underwater. This was the first watch to offer this feature! But, yes, it makes it a really dang big watch.

: 2. On 2598.20.00 you can feel and hear the self
: winding much stronger than on 2531.80.00.

Well, it does use a different watch movement. But that may also be a difference in just the one or two you've examined. Can't really say if this is true of ALL of these or not.

: 3. Isnīt 2598.20.00 available any longer in
: steel on steel blue dial and steel bezel? I
: canīt see it on Omegas net sites.

Omega's site only shows a few samples of the hundreds of different styles and variations they offer. So don't attribute any meaning to not seeing a particular version there. Heck, even their consumer catalogs don't show all the variations. I think only the dealer catalogs come close to showing the complete collection.
