No cause for concern. It is not unusual for a watch to sit in stock at a distributor or dealer for a number of months before it finally gets sold.

The one thing I would do is merely anticipate sending it in for a battery replacement during your warranty period. I understand average battery life on the X-33 to be somewhere between 24 and 30 months. So if your watch left the factory 17 months before you got it, your battery may be due for a change around the end of this year. That will be covered by your warranty.
