I bought my first one (an autowind) a couple of years before it became the "Bond" watch. At 14 months (2 months past the warranty period) it suddenly began gaining 30/40 seconds a day! It went back to the land of its birth not once but twice, returning each time with a certificate of good health, but still gaining 30/40seconds a day. I finally traded it in (being an honest man, I told the dealer about the problem) on the old "Bond" watch, a S/S Submariner. But I was never happy with the Sub. To be honest, it "felt" unsubstantial on the wrist, not solid like the SMP. The Oyster bracelet, IMHO, just doesn't hold a candle to the Omega bracelet with its basket weave, and there just ain't nothing like that blue wavy dial face. I found this site a few weeks ago and was tickled to death to learn that there was a quartz version of this watch. I figured with the reliability of the quartz movement the poor Omega service would be a moot point. A few minutes on the web and I found a very reputable dealer who would made me a very good deal (Sub for Seamaster + cash). And now I'm a Happy, Happy Man 8+)
