Constellation Chronograph

I have several questions about the Constellation Chronograph. I will appreciate any answers and comments.

1. Quartz watches are usually less expensive than mechanical ones. The SS Constellation Chronograph, however, is more expensive than the SS Speedmaster or the SS Seamaster Chronograph. Why?

2. Pure quartz movements do not require as much, or any, maintenance service as mechanical movements because the gear train of a mechanical movement is under constant load from the mainspring while that of a quartz movement is under no load. The Constellation Chronograph has a hybrid movement: a quartz movement with mechanical chronograph mechanism. In terms of maintenance servicing, should it be treated as a quartz or mechanical watch?

3. Does this watch, or any Omega quartz watch, take generic batteries, such as those from Duracell or Energizer?

4. Any experience or knowledgeable comments on the Piguet 1270 caliber?

Many thanks for reading and considering the questions.

Carl
