Newbie...Automatic question.

Hello everyone...

After many sleepless night and question of Quartz vs Automatic...I finally get the SMP JB-Automatic 2531.80.00 and loving it very much...

Just one question...When the watch is in an idle state and after a few shakes the second hand is standing still, only after I've adjust the time & date and push it back in the second hand start ticking...Is this normal...I thought after a few shakes the second hand start to move right-a-way...Is this something I need to worry about, is it a defect or that's the way the watch is operate...Thank you very much for your help solving this little mystery...
