Staying wound up...

For an automatic to stay sufficiently wound to not start to run down between uses, it seems to require at least 13 *active* hours a day 7 days a week. Or if leave the watch off one or two days a week, then you should probably wear it *all* the active portion of your day on the days you do wear it.

Obviously, these numbers vary depending how active you are during the day. The info above is based on men who have just an ordinary desk-job level of activity. Numbers would definitely be less if you were more like a daily tennis player or jackhammer operator!

Of course, simply hand winding it once a week for an extra boost would not hurt if you are not sure you are wearing it enough.
