Sizing the bracelet- has anyone done this?

Yes, I have read what it says on this site, and I'm sure it's correct! The deal is, I live in Charlottesville, VA and the nearest Omega dealer is over an hour away, and they won't do it "while I wait." Now, my argument to them is "how do you do it at all, if my wrist isn't there." I'm going to see some other jewelers in town to see if they can do it, but to be honest, I don't trust the local shops (gotten to meet some folks in my travels searching for a watch). I've always done my own, mainly TAG's, and have never had a problem. I have an old block my father used (slots and holes- homemade) and a set of punches, but am concerned that it's really as tricky as info. suggests. Has anyone tried it? Thanks!
