Re: Omega link tool?
In Response To: Re: Omega link tool? ()

: Hi Dan,

: You might try the following if you get the
: uncontrollable urge to mess with
: a bracelet!

: I use the Frei & Borel screw type pusher to
: remove the bracelet pins.

: To re-insert, I press the pin most of the way
: home against a hard surface -
: my workbench, or the smooth side of a pair of
: small pliers. You must be exceedingly
: careful not to bend a pin. I've not had a
: problem, but figure I may one of
: these days! I finish seating the pin using the
: screw type pusher against the
: protruding end of the pin. The pusher driven
: pin moves so slowly and with such control
: that the
: pin doesn't slide off the end of the bracelet
: pin. If it does slide, it's not going to
: move far enough
: to scratch the bracelet.

: Best wishes,
: Bob

I also like to do things for myself but I draw the line at link removal. My local jeweler does it while I wait for only $7.50 and I know he won't slip and scratch something. After all, you only need this service once for each watch.
