Was it off 20 seconds/day from the start or is that a result of getting banged around during your 'hard use'? In any case its highly unlikely you could get a replacement after 7 months. The watch clearly needs to be regulated. It should be within +6 to -4 secs/24 hours. After break in, many watches exhibit even better numbers.
With regard to the 55 min date change, this is something that can also be adjusted at the same time. Your 'hard use' probably affected it. As Derek Zigler has pointed out to others, your delayed date change itself doesn't mean that there is a problem, but it is on the high side. For most folks the date should change on, or within a few minutes of, midnight.
With regard to the Chronograph function, Derek could probably provide better feedback than I could.
