Mark is right. And I will add that investing $1000-2000 in a *depreciating asset* is a horrible waste of money trying to invest in the future.

Sure, if you will enjoy it between now and then, that is a good use of the money.

But otherwise, wait 19 years then buy a 19 year old Omega for the equivalent of $400--instead of wasting $600-1,600 while it sits waiting for your child to be old enough to appreciate it.
