It's winter people. Comments such as those made by x in the original message increase in web chats during the winter months (I guess it's because of the cooped-up feeling). I agree that negative criticisms, especially over the internet will only serve to breed hostility, but sometimes people make bold statements to seek inclusion. I say we forget it and move on. It's good to hear x likes the SMP (it is after all an undeniably fantastic watch). As to Pierce Brosnan wearing it, I have read a number of articles regarding speculation as to what James Bond would wear today. The overwhelming opinion seems to support the pinache and eclectic style of the SMP over Rolex's Submariner. Ask 10 people you will get varying answers to be certain. In the end it matters little, other than I like the publicity that it adds (a hidden, intrinsic value) and especially like it when my kids say "HEY DAD, THERE'S YOUR WATCH) when watching Brosnan's portrayal of Bond.
