A non-chronometer SMP chronograph is unusual...

As far as I know, the Seamaster Professional Chronograph has always been a chronometer since it was introduced in 1993. All the older photos I can find show it labeled as a Chronometer on the dial.

But Mark is quite right that Omega does occasionally do ununsual production runs. They made a non-chronometer run of the Bond automatics SMP Divers a few years ago for distribution in Italy.

So the best thing to do now is check fo the serial number, which should be in very tiny laser etched numbers on the back of one of the lugs. Then have Omega look it up to get the full story behind it. If the story is something unusual, I would love for you to post the details here!

Also, if you can post a photo of the watch here, it will help us identify if there is anything else unusual about it.
