SMP 200M and watchstrap problem

Hi

Hope you can help offer some advise to someone living in London.

I have an older model Omega SMP200 (made about1985ish) with a stainless steel strap. The metal links of the strap are held together by pins. This morning a pin from the lower half of the watch strap worked its way out and the strap fell into two parts. I don't think I lost any parts and manually put the strap back together myself. Is this a common problem and if so is there anything I can do to prevent it happening again?

I have a feeling is that the answer is no, so the next question is does anyone know where I could source a replacement strap and have any idea of cost? The part code as stamped on the inside of the orginal strap is "Stainless steel 32 1455/453 Omega"

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Mike
