Congrats &a couple of questions

Hi,

First of all congratulations to all the people responsible for this site. It is truly a fantastic resource for us Omega-philes. I also have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with.

Question 1.
I have an 10 month old SMP 2531.80 which I wear 24/7 and am concerned that it is gains approx 5mins p/m. My dealer told me to expect -4/+6secs per day and that it would usually settle down after a few months. The various articles and posts here would seem to confirm this. However, as it is still running at twice this stated tolerance, should I now have it regulated before the warranty expires? I don't want to be all anal about it but 5 mins is enough to be slightly irritating.

Question 2
I am now looking at buying a dress watch. I don't have a lot of money to spend (The SMP was a hard earned purchase!) I recall seeing various Seamasters from the mid 1950's for sale in antique shops in London for approx £350stg each. This type of watch would fit the bill. Does the price seem reasonable and are there many problems associated with buying Seamasters from this era?

Thanks again
Stephen
