Re: seamaster chronograph is it a good watch ?

The valjoux 7750 is an excellent movement used in a variety of top brands selling for up to several thousand dollars. Its generally reliable and accurate. Those that criticize it often do so because it is not an in house movement but rather from a third party which makes movements for a many manufacturers. This means the movement is not unique and may not be as expensively finished as movements made in house. This of course can also affect resale value.

The link below is to a web page I found which gives a brief history of Valjoux. Usually the Valjoux 7750 is compared to the Lemania 5100, another fine movement but one which contains some plastic parts. Each has its pluses and minuses and each has its fans.
