It slows, here's why...

Your watch ran for the correct amount of time. Where the hands leave off is a pretty good indication of what time it stopped, give or take a few minuets. When a watch slows down, the rate of the escapement speeds up since the balance swings in shorter increments. This happens because the roller jewel is not thrown as far since there is less power pushing the escapement. So the pallet lever locks and unlocks the escape wheel at a faster rate.
