Here's some extra confusion
In Response To: Re: This Gets Confusing - - - ()

: Can confirm that it is 21mm between the lugs,
: the bezel is uni but slightly off black/grey
: rather than the normal sharp black of
: Autavias.

: The only other difference is that on the
: movement plate that normally says seventeen
: jewels etc it has this plus the letters
: JR6K, in larger font. This is different from
: my other Cal 12's but in all other visible
: ways the movement is the same.

Hi Shaun

i think the V on the model number is spurious, my diver 100 version of the Autavia also has the 11063V model stamp, so it may be that all 11063 Autavias are in fact 11063V.

can anyone else check their late model Autavia's case reference and post a reply?

it's difficult to work out what happened with the last of the Autavias because Heuer insisted on giving the 11630 model reference in catalogues when they were actually selling 11063s

to anyone wondering what this is all about, automatic Autavias come in 3 basic case types, 1st the plexi glass (63 case ref) version, originally introduced in 1969, which is the smalest and lightest of the 3. then the luxury, mineral crystal version (630 case ref), originally introduced about 1972/3, which has a deeper case to raise the flat mineral crystal above the dial, and finally the giant (063 case ref), introduced about 1979 with a bigger bezel and yet heavier case.

hope this is some help
