Great discussion.
I've seen these arguments before.
Fact is, although there is no weight in space the mass is still the same. Mass, inertia and momentum are what spin your rotor, and it will work perfectly well in space. Zero degredation of performance. Many autos have been worn in space...Seiko Chronographs, Rolex GMT Master (Swigert...to the moon and back on Apollo 13 with no problems), Glycine Airman (Conrad), Sinn, Fortis (Cosmonauts) etc...
