Certainly doesn't help, but it seems so well established that what other choice do people have that's so widely used ? You don't have to use Paypal, I always put "Paypal accepted, but prefer cheque or bank transfer" and stipulate 7 days clearance including Paypal. I haven't seen the zero shipping costs - it hasn't applied on the items I've sold recently.
