Thanks very much for the response and the image i now have of mullets. I'm an 80s man too and feel in exchange i can admit to have listened to much Depeche Mode in my day! Infact the playlist for my upcoming wedding is a good 30% classic pre 86...
Very useful to know the strap in your opinion isn't original - but had suspected the box wasn't. Re-edtion boxes didn;t look like that though did they? Hadn't factored in the original tag, that's good to know.
I am wavering between this or an extra few hundred pounds for a Monaco CS2110 at present, both owned by Scandanavia collectors and i'm slightly wavering towards the Monza at present. Suspect it may not be as good an investment but it somehow fscinates me more...
Cheers
Rich
: Let me start with saying i'm a fan of the Monza, I own a Cal.15 PVD
: model myself and love it. ( I was sadly also a teenager in the
: 80ies / Mullet hairstyles and a cross over of Synthersiser music
: and later Hair Metal cloud my past too! LOL )
: The Cal.12 example you have photo linked is in lovely condition and
: i would say it is a very desireable piece with its original
: looking strap/unsigned buckle, original manual and original
: (super rare) hang tag. The other pieces look to be from later
: items - i guess the bracelet to be a Pasasdena item and the
: Heuer case to be from the Re-issue model period 90's-2000.
: These Cal.12 pieces are quite a bit rarer than the Cal.15 model and
: in rarity we often see prices increase. The reason Monza models
: dont command the prices and attention other Heuer models demand
: could be because they were made as a 'Bugdet' model. They are
: made of cheaper metals and then PVD covered or chromed to finish
: the case work. Some purists see Stainless or the less popular
: Gold to be the only metals worthy of strapping to the wrist.
: For Arno : I have never seen a chrome case Cal.12 Monza. Did they
: exist or were all Cal.12 Monza's treated to the PVD process?
: I hope you buy and then enjoy this truely lovely piece Richard.
