The UK bidders weren't in on the Rolex, so I reckon they could be Heuer as well as McQueen fans :)
There were two other Heuers (and a TAG or two) in the sale:
An Autavia, hammer price $1300:

With buyer's premium, that Carrera is $1800. I was quite surprised at that, given the dial is really in fairly poor condition (check the high-quality image). It even has cracks, like you only expect to see in early porcelain dials.
