I'm with you completely.

Despite its price tag, the Singer is itself a replica. So its creators may view the artistic license taken on the clock being in line with the rest of the vehicle. I'm not touching potential legality issues as it's not my area.

The whole clock bit does seem overly contrived. I mean, why bother creating the confusion?

: case of the Singer installation). Maybe it's just me, but it
: seems so strange to find these clocks mounted in the dash of a
: $200K / $300K Porsche. Maybe like seeing some cheap, aftermarket
: brakes painted bright red, and marked "Brembo" or
: putting the "Cosworth" name on low-quality replacement
: engine purchased at Walmart.
