Re: What do You Make of the Silver Printing?

I believe that silver printing was on the middle run of Carreras. The very earliest 2447N Carreras (53XXX through 56XXX) from 1963 and 1964 had white printing on the dials. Some later ones had silver, including one sold in the Bonhams Haslinger Collection sale as well as the Cougar Dato.

This is another one with silver printing, my guess is from around the 1965/1966 timeframe.

It kind of corresponds to the 2447S reference. The earliest 2447S watches from 1963 and 1964 had a white/ivory dial. The 1965/1966 version had a silver starburst dial. Then the later Carreras with the short stubby markers went back to having the white/ivory dial.

: Is the silver printing unusual only at these serial numbers, or
: across the whole production run of Carreras, even early ones?
