louisbrant Posts: Thanks Chuck You made my morning!
Chuck: "Let's go with your theory... They get worse with time, so you should sell them to me and only me for pennies on the dollar. I have broken out my spare change jar to pay your for your collection. I await a detailed listing of your inventory and a place to mail you a very modest MO. Then you can go out and buy yourself a nice new Swatch."
Ok! So mabye I was wrong Because these watches coming out of South America are probably new or recently made . So they are making your statement come true . I have a personal difficulty being wrong or personally making wrong statements . More accurately, I would rather avoid having to note/admit instances I am wrong. Hence, I try to be very careful when I state definatively without "wiggle words" that something is a fake or a franken. ¿Wiggle words? I discussed these in depth less than a month ago in the post ‘Statements, comments, opinions & the differences…’. You may wish to (re)read this post.
I am not in the habit of making wrong statements, when it seems I'm going out on a limb, I really feel very certain of my footing.
I don't know how recent the watches in question were (re)manufacturered, but I believe the chances of these watches having come out of a Heuer facility in Switzerland in the vintage implied by the seller and consistant of the years of production of the movement contained within is miniscule to the point of being nigh undetectable.
Again Chuck Thank you very much.
Still Smiling Ok...

ps where did the Jeff's post go that stated this in the first place ? The seller contacted him about the fair use thing and someone offerred a huge bag of M&Ms to go south to take him on ?Now I can't find it . It hasn't gone anywhere... The post is entitled ‘Guy Selling This Fake Challenges Me -- jeff stein -- 9/2/04 05:38 GMT’ and the M&M reference occurs within the replies following. I'm surprised you were not able to find it, you posted within that thread the day before yesterday. It is only one screen down from this thread.
OTD/Chronocentric forums do offer an excellent Search Feature... Even if you can't find a post quickly with a visual scan of the forum, you would have been able to find the proper thread easily and quickly by doing a search on "M&M"...
