: Challenges Me -- jeff stein -- 9/2/04
Hello All
The thing was that it was in the "Chronomatic Brochure -- May 1969 -- Jeff Stein -- 9/1/04 " Thread and I admit I'm not very good at this chat I.T. stuff . And it was there ( off topic I guess ) that the "fair use" , "take you to court" , "Ya! you sell fakes ", "copyright" thing started .
And the age of the frankens have changed due to being Bionic with all kinds of remanufactured parts . The design is new becuase they did not excist 3 decades ago (the watches in there current form ). You can find ref. for a 70's Heuer monaco and a 2003 Franken Heuer at OTD. So that is why, I in my magnanimousness said that your statment was true Because even a worn out Lamania 5100 is going to shine next a newly minted Franken .
There is a theme to our long threads ( all two of them ) and that is although the main statement is true the reason for the statement is not . Sort of like if Jeff said the sky is blue and it because the moon is made of blue cheese . Of course the sky is blue , Of course this will never go to court and of course they are fakes but not becuase it is this one seller or the fact they are fakes , make it open season on coyright and that the moon is made of blue cheese .
Before you do your "troll" like cutting , paisting and making things bold remember the franken seller with the near perfect vintage Autavia with the Seiko bezel. You said it was a franken because of the seller " you buy a watch you buy the seller".And evryone else started posting like a feeding frenzy.
Cheers
