Well, I'm not so sure any of those drivers you mention made big money until the late 70's. Vic was out by then. But they certainly had better name-recognition in the US due to their Indy 500, F1 and/or NASCAR exposure.

I think I read somewhere - maybe in one of Andretti's books - about his pay scale back in the day but I don't remember what he said. I'll have to try and find that. Interesting topic.

BTW, Vic was at Goodwood this weekend driving the Chaparral 2J Sucker Car!
