Thanks for your reply, and sorry for taking so long to respond. I just want to say that I was not expecting Tag Heuer service to guarantee water resistance. I would never take any of my vintage watches into the shower etc anyway. It is just comforting to know that most of them can probably cope with a shower or two. Anyway, back to this titanium Tag Heuer chrono. The seller has accepted to pay half the cost of service, so I will go ahead. The missing "throat" is probably not such a big thing. Most likely, the watch will come back at least dust-proof, and that should be enough.
