Re: Great Divers watch site.
In Response To: Re: Great Divers watch site. ()

I have done some research about these early divers, and there's at least 32-35 different models between 1979 and 1982.

Four different sizes, lady (28mm), midsize (32mm), Mens (38mm, I think) and Fullsize mens (41mm). Jubilee bracelet or tropic strap. Some early Full size mens had a oyster bracelet.

Cases is Gold, goldplated, steel, steel/gold, black/gold, black pvd, green pvd, grey pvd, and base metal chrome.
Dial is black, orange or luminous yellow.
Crystal is plastic or more common mineral glass.

Movement is automatic or quartz on Lady and Full size. Quartz only in Mid size and Mens size. The very first divers was French made with Felsa movement. Later has ETA/ESA automatic or quartz movements.

Early watches has only ref.number stamped on case back. Later production has nicer case back with the Heuer shield logo.

Maby I'll make a site dedicated to these divers.

Regards

Jarl
