Re: Humor Me, Just for a Minute or Two . . .

Here is another member of the family, with the rare blue registers:

: Are there any among us who believe, even for a minute, that the
: types of dial shown below were ever used by Heuer in
: factory-produced Monacos?

: Characteristics of these 73633Bs are (a) waffle applied markers,
: (b) poor quality on the "Monaco" and the
: "Heuer" logo, (c) open "4"s on the hour and
: running second registers, (d) short hands, sometimes too thin,
: (e) blotchy printing on the regsiters, (f) messy lume dots or no
: dots at all, and (g) no "Tool 033" or
: "Heuer" logo on the case-back.

: If you believe that these dials are genuine, used by Heuer in these
: Monacos, please say so. No need to prove your case, but give us
: some support if you are so inclined.

: OK, so if you believe that they were not produced by Heuer in this
: execution, please tell us where you think they came from? What
: country / what era? Does it affect your thinking if someone were
: to report that the gasket on one of these seems very old, and
: has turned to the customary well-aged goop? Might they be
: service dials? Might they have been poor-quality dials that were
: rejected by Heuer, but then used by someone else.

: In simplest terms, my question is where do we think these
: dials came from?

: Thanks for any ideas.

: Jeff
