Re: Soccer / Football: Not a Real Fan, But I Enjoyed This Pl

I thought Rob Green doing a Scott Carson impression was unfortunate...

And they're not called "plays" in football (UK meaning) Jeff :)

I find it interesting how different countries and cultures consume their sports too - the coverage I have seen in the US of any sport has been pretty stat-obsessed, really delving into minutiaie, whereas I'm quite happy seeing possession stats pop up a couple of times during the match. National bias is pretty much universal I think - watching F1, the producers are pretty much tied to the feed from the race TV team, but that doesn't stop the commentators focussing on "their" racers. And watching football with any South American commentary track is brilliant, the commentators go apoplectic!

Though you can't beat Alan Partridge going "Goal!" and then "And another one!" when the replay is shown :) (For the benefit of non-UK readers, Alan Partridge is a fictional TV commentator/presenter created by Steve Coogan).

Some swearing in that, I'll warn you.
