The Big Ben story is interesting. Unfortunately, there is little solid proof, this story may have been passed around with the watch.
The message on the back of the photo with the 'Big Ben' claim, is signed by someone called 'Mel'. Interestingly there is an old BBC News article about the guy who has maintained Big Bens clock for the last 25 yrs - he isn't called Mel... Doesn't mean it isn't true, just noting the information.
