An Ebay auction ended recently with what looked like a transitional Monaco selling for £5800.

It was infact a re-dial of a Chronomatic serial range case, with steel hands that had blue lume....the likelyhood that is was originally a Chronomatic was strong.

It had been "re-dialed" some time ago, but still in my eyes it will always be worth only the sum of its parts now, with a "Paintless Wonder" dial it will have retained more value obviosuly, albeit not as much as a good-mint condition dialed Chronomatic Monaco.

I'd always rather see a damaged original dial than a repainted one.
