Fresh pvd Carrera w/questions

As some of you may recall a pvd Carrera that was missing its pvd and had an over polished came up on eBay not to long ago. Well I’m a sucker for projects and thought that it deserved to be put back to something close to its former glory. After striking a deal with the seller, it arrived safely after its journey from Italy to Florida.

On closer inspection it was in pretty good condition. The only real detractor other than the missing pvd was the rather tired and partially missing lume. Wearing it for a few days revealed that it runs well and functions as it should, but missing the pvd it just wasn't right. The tired and missing lume bothers me a bit I have decided to leave it for now. So with that in mind I set about correcting the case. After disassembly, recoating and reassembly here it is.

Overall I’m very pleased with the results but I would like to see what everyone else thinks good or bad.

Before

After

I also have a couple of questions about the pvd Carreras that some of our experts can maybe help answer for me.

1. Did they have lume on the dials? Mine doesn’t have any and it seems odd to me that there is nothing. From the photos online that I have seen its hard to tell if they do or not.

2. Did they have serials and ref numbers in the same place as the other barrel Carreras? I have a ref number on the caseback that says R110 571, and nothing on the ends of the case above the lugs. I thought the ref number was 110.571 NC

3. And lastly were there pvd buckles for straps or were those just stainless like normal?

Thanks,

Eddie
