I am hoping it's a cosmetic thing at this point as well for now, although it does detract from overall condition.

These pics are from the first time the watch was ever opened by the original owner, so yes, the movement is untouched and surprisingly clean.

: may want to send it to a Heuer restorer like Abel Court in
: Europe or Craig Bergsma in the USA, there may be others but you
: need to make sure they know what they're doing with the case,
: sometimes they may even recommend leaving it alone.
