YES -- it's a chronograph (and very nice one)!!

The customary definition is that a chronograph measures time of day (like a normal watch) and also has an independently operating stopwatch / timer -- usually with a capacity of between 30 minutes or 12 hours.

Sort of like old scotty -- he is a racing boat, but there may not be any actual tag or label on him that says "racing boat".

It gets a little more complicated with the definition of "chronometer", which signifies a normal watch (that measures time of day) certified to operate within stated tolerances . . . I think that's the definition.

Perhaps others will have additional information about your chronograph. At some point -- soon -- I need to add these pilots watches to the chronograph section of OnTheDash.

: This may be a silly question, if so, I'm sorry.

: I've been thinking of my TAG Heuer over the
: last few days and when I research similar
: types, I've seen some that are pictured with
: the word "Chronograph" printed on
: the dial. Yet when I look my own over that I
: bought in 1985, I don't see the label. Does
: this mean it isn't? The term isn't listed on
: the back of the watch either.

: Just curious, Thanks
