Great to have another Pilot's fan here!

Chuck,

Thanks for the reply.

You're welcome, it's great to have a fellow Heuer/TAG-Heuer Pilot's fan here in the forum. I own five of them (three quartz, two Automatics), and in fact, I had two Silver Dialed Automatics, and I had wanted a Black Dial so I had Pro-Time swap the dials for me. I had waited for a Black Dial to come along on eBay at a reasonable price for a couple of years and I couldn't wait any longer...

I guess I'm a little bit disappointed, but only a little.

You shouldn't be... Chronometre's are typically over rated. The movements are only certified to +6/-4 and that's not inside the case. Most Non-Chronometres provide adequate accuracy for daily use unless you're a scientist or technician of some sort.

When I bought it back in 1985 (maybe it was 84...) I just knew Heuer made good watches and that I couldn't go wrong buying one. It's done great service for me over the years and I am very happy to have it back in commission again. Even thought it isn't a chronometer, it keeps fantastic time. I'm even relearning the whole CR-2 computer functions to keep it functional.

The thing I love about the whiz wheels is not only their navigation features but also they are useful for figuring tips, taxes, and currency exchange rates.

Thanks again,

Mark

You're welcome and welcome to OTD and the Forum!
