Hi, Derek: Thanks for taking time to respond to my post. I couln't believe it was common, either, and put it down to a guy not taking care of his watch, compounded with a handling problem by clerks at a jewelry store. Until I looked at his guest book... A lot of those people had just posted their support and sympathy, but an alarming number posted similar problems with leaks, broken hands, bracelets falling apart (that just amazed me, after seeing that buff bracelet!)and terrible customer service.
