Hmmmmm. In the past Omega has serviced watches that were grey market but would not offer warranty service so I suspect the issue is the serial number removal. But to re-authetisize (is that even a real word?) seems strange. $1000 seems like a pretty severe spanking to me. I guess the question is- Would you buy grey market again? I betcha someone will read you post and reconsider, which is Omegas intent. Mike's advice is sound, get it fixed locally.(or try another Omega facility-maybe a different response?)
