I purchased a Seamaster Pro Chrono from Ashford with no serial number and saved quite a bit over an "authorized" dealer. Also their service was very good and the watch was shipped in all boxes (inner red leather and outer white box) with manual except it did not have the Omega warranty. Ashford did include their three year warranty with their warranty card. How good is it? I don't know because I haven't gotten that far yet. However if you read the "Omega horror story" web site buying from an authorized dealer is not a guarranty of good service. Bottom line is without the gray market I would not have been able to afford this watch. Because of it I have one.
I had a buddy purchase a Bond Seamaster from Costco with serial number intact with the warranty card. But because Costco is not an authorized dealer the warranty card was not stamped and was therefore useless. I would rather have a three year "Ashford" warranty than a useless Omega warranty. Enjoy your Seamaster and don't worry about the serial number.
