Quartz is more accurate on time and even more convenient in many ways than traditional mechanical watches, however some prefer mechanical watches for the amount of details and precesion of workmanship the movement has which makes mechanical watches more expensive.

Both choices are excellent for a good brand name like Omega or Rolex, it depends on your taste and your budget (if I may say so).
