Quartz means pay 1000's for what is worth few $

Quartz watches should cost few $ since that is how much they are worth in production. In my opinion, you should never pay more than 200 USD for most complicated quartz of highest quality.

As for accuracy, $10 will be more accurate than most mechanical.

My Omega triple date, 4 weeks old, is absolutly accurate in last 12 days. Over the day it looses bit over second, over the night it returns that second back.
