: TripleLock or Quadruple lock, what ever it is,
: a crown is just a crown. It's worth a couple
: of bucks from watchmaterial house.

: If you expect a Rolex or Omega will perform
: much better than a Seiko or an Invicta, you
: will be disappointed. A watch is just a
: watch. People pay extra get the better
: styling, workmanship and brand name
: prestige, that's about it for luxury
: watches. Please, crown? bracelet? or xxx
: grade streel, they are really trivial stuff.

"A crown is just a crown"..... While that is true, there's a lot more to it.

A crown is the weakest part of the watch. It also gives you 'feedback' of a watch's quality. Cheap autos wind with noise. Winding an Omega is a pleasure, the feeback is butta smooth and quiet. You should try it yourself! After hearing a post about a crown actually falling off of a new Omega, and some posts about problems with setting the watch, I think that crown design (not just the metal top of course though) is important.....
