I own a new release BUREN quarts which has gained 42 seconds over 365 days... that is .115 seconds per day. The watch cost me R1,400-00 or 230 dollars. Does that make it a superior watch?? I don't think so. My OMEGA Constellation gains about 42 seconds A WEEK. Does that make it a inferior watch?? NO WAYS!!!

There is so much more in a good quality watch which most people never think of. For one, spares for my OMEGA's will always be available. If they don't have them in stock, they wil make them.

The BURENS are made by machines, turning them out by the thousands. My OMEGA'S are handmade by people who are proud of what they are doing. I always wonder how many SEA MASTERS really go to sea!! I will never take mine to sea although I live at the beach. I use a cheap ORIENT diving watch for that purpose because I value my OMEGA to high to risk it in salt water.

Why do one then pay more for a OMEGA instead of buying a cheap watch whick you can chuck away when its finished?? Because I am proud to have a masterpiece on my wrist. It is there for ME, not for anybody else. Just like wearing good clothes, shoes etc makes you feel good, the same applies to a watch.

I have a friend who only drives BMW's and don't mind paying for them. He wears a XONIC which cost him 5 dollars. That does not make sense to me but that's the way he reasons. I don't disagree with him, neither does he disagree with me as far as my choice of watches is concerned.

So please, let's not argue about this. We love WATCHES (read Omega) and that's it. If anyone prefers a more popular (cheaper) model, that's OK
Just leave us alone, we are happy people!!!!
